A friend just posted this on facebook, she said she found it in her room.

Wasn't aware spiders grew this big in the UK. Safe to say I'll be keeping my windows well closed and my eyes very peeled for these fcukers, I hate them.

More to the point what is it doing on her hand!??
-
She picked it up to show it against her wrist, for size comparison.
She's hot too.
-

Well thats a big fecker, boiling water works well when there in the tub. :D
And id also brave that for her unless it climbed onto my leg.

Found one on the stairs the other day bigger than that.
I had to get the cat to sort it out.
Sounded crunchy.

Actually, up until last week we were caring for a neighbours kitten for 3 weeks and now I think about it I've yet to see any spiders inside the house. Mind you I'm pretty lucky and we hardly get any inside, just the odd wolf spider once every long time thankfully. Been looking around the web (irony) and I'm going to buy this insecticide. (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Spiderex-SPIDEREX-Spider-Repellant-300ml/dp/B003R0E9V6/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1316036940&sr=8-5) Reviews look promising. Going to spray some around my window frame, doors and plenty in the garden shed.

It gets worse during harvest season because their habitat gets ploughed.
Or so the wives tale goes.

tis true, my house looks over a freshly ploughed field and we have loads of spiders :undecided: i used to hate them but now i'm kind of used to them and just catch them and escort them outside or if the mrs is out flush them down the toilet.
-
I remember when my shed was full off them in my old house, I blow torched every single one, nowadays they don't bother me as much. Yet my parents shed never gets any spiders :undecided:
-
Smoking
Although there is no way I would pick that big ass spider up
-
O for FFS!
Man up the lot of ya!
Tis' a harmless Wolf Spider.
These are great fun as they are nippy little buggers and they jump!
Next time you find one, give it a gentle push on its back legs and watch it jump, they can go quite far.
-
Must be quite a few popimg up lately. checked fb thismorning to find 4 pics of them in peoples houses. sadly nom of them were as fit as the person the op is talking about
-
Is it a wolf spider then? I thought it was a house spider :undecided:
And fcuk me, if a spider that big can jump I can imagine my house being NYC and the spider being spiderman. Not good.

Well you see Andres, the term "House spider" is generic.

That thing looks like something we had at work, he only use to come out for feeding, good to watch. At my current work place we have loads off these small spiders that brown in color and have black stripes, but they wouldn't eat a moth I caught them.
-
Awwww didems!

Think I need a trip to your place of work, there's something about that girl that makes her irresistibly tasty, nom nom nom.
