I am feeling such a tw@t posting this as I am sure everyone will know the answer......Except me :nerd:
I ordered an external door handle for my car......Trouble is have I ordered the drivers or passenger side as the way it states in the ad' it could depend on what end of the car you are looking at it from
This is what I have ordered (Ad'title)...... Front Door Handle with lock & keys VW Golf Mk3 Right.
Is this the drivers or passenger side?

if the guy has used the usual way of describing which side, then you have ordered the drivers side door handle.

Off to fit it now!

Not sure it makes any difference after reading this :- http://www.veedubmachine.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=3_18_67_81&products_id=924
I think the one you may have bought this one ? :- http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Front-Door-Handle-lock-keys-VW-Golf-Mk3-Right-/310298550444?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item483f3c20ac
Having never done one myself i'm wondering if you have the paddle the right way around as it says "eccentric paddle" which makes me think it will only fit in a certain position ?.

Top find.....Thank you
What I am having huge troubles with now is getting the bloody paddle to fit inside

Many times in my association with cars have i got into situations when trying to fit parts where i have begun to believe that the parts are faulty and they just ai'nt gonna fit
Usually by that time steam is pouring from my ears and spanners are airborne !
Best advice i can give is have a break, make a cuppa and then go back to it after 20 minutes or so.
You might just get that light bulb moment and work out why it's not going as hoped and then get it sorted

^^^^ very true!
Best thing is to look at both old and new and make sure they are the same.
