Right then! I'm looking at ordering a couple of bits from Chris at waxamomo (when the G101 comes in) but i'd like to get some trim dressings for my car as well as a few family members so worth buying some bulk bits i think, was looking at either highstyle or finish but the descriptions are the same? It says for interiors but i'm sure it can be used on exterior plastics, am i right? My old man has a volvo xc60 with lots of black plastic trim round the bottom that looks awful unless it's dressed so are these products any good for that? He's only had the car a month but the bloke that cleaned it prior to collection should have his balls removed with a spoon! as the trim has white marks as though wet polish has run down it that i can't shift with what i have, any suggestions for this would be great!
It also has white paint spots on parts of the body like it's been in a bodyshop, i'm going to try some Bilthamber clay on this first but the paint also has some terrible buffer trails too so will be investing in a polisher soon but i'll start a new thread about that a bit later on with some pictures. sorry for going a bit OT and thanks for any advice or recommendations ref Autosmart stuff!

Highstyle is good (not sure on durability) and Tardi is an excellent tar remover.
-
Autosmart products are great but each has their place
G101 you can't go wrong with.. but remember if you're using it as a TFR then it is very strong
Smart Wheels is an excellent product and is non-acidic
Finish - is a water based tyre and trim dressing with silicone for both protecting and rejuvenating vinyl, rubber and plastic. High sheen but can be diluted for interior use if a softer sheen is required. Finish is solvent free and non-flammable.
Highstyle - leaves a weather resistant finish for all tyres, vinyl and plastics, inside and out. Unbeatable gloss and lustre.
Pazzazz - an interior dressing for vinyl, plastics and rubber trim.
Trim Ultra - long lasting exterior dressing. The easy to apply liquid dressing restores colour, has a high gloss finish, is extremely weather resistant and last for many weeks. Trim Ultra dries very hard so mustn't be left on paintwork.
===================
Choosing between finish and Highstyle can be a difficult one. Highstyle I use for tyres as it leaves a really glossy finish. You can use it on trim and plastics and it will leave them very glossy. Best applied from a nozzle bottle with either a paintbrush or a cotton cloth.
Finish I have used on tyres... brings then back to a nice 'black' without too much gloss or bling. I find Finish best for Engine bays, wheel arches and interior plastic trim... the good thing about Finish is you can just spray it on and walk away... I find its best applied neat with a trigger spray.
For the black plastic trim on your old mans car you can clean with G101 on a microfibe... really get the dirt and polish off. Then apply your dressing of choice. If I want a plastic trim finish to last then I would use trim ultra... applied using an nozzle bottle and a sponge and then wiped down using an old microfibre. It needs about 4 hours in dry conditions to cure.

 thanks Guy! Can't seem to find trim ultra on any of the usual retail sites, i take it that would be one i'd have to get from an Autosmart rep? If so then i may as well get the G101 from them too (sorry chris) i personally like glossy tyres so would probably go Highstyle then, does highstyle cake if used regularly if so could i just use G101 to clean the tyres?
Sorry for the 20 questions and thanks again.

no Highstyle doesn't cake... will stay noticeable for about a week or so (depending on miles and conditions).. but the cars I do on a weekly basis still have cleaner looking tyres than others cars when I come to valet them the following week.
you won't find Trim Ultra on the web... there are many AutoSmart products that you'll only get from a rep.
you could you G101 to clean the tyres and wheels... although I prefer to use Smart Wheels

-
Ok mate no worries, i might just get some highstyle for the time being then, is there any chance you might start to stock the trim ultra? Thanks again for the effort and i'll get an order in this week!

Big fan of tardis and highstyle on tyres. Tyres are permanent deep black now!
Tardis removed dried tigerseal (strong adheasive)
The smartwheels stuff. Is that the one that removes baked on brake dust? Not sure which one i have but it works like the Wolfs product but turns yellow rather than red.
Any clues as i have an unlabeled bottle!
Need more if anything!
-
Yeah why not, I actually never got chance to get over to my Autosmart rep today so will try and pick some up this week.
-
Top man! Give us a shout when it's in and i'll send an order your way! Thanks again

smart wheels isn't that good with baked on brake dust... its non-caustic and non-acidic so isn't massively powerful... if I have a grotter that I need to sort quickly and remove baked on brake dust then I have found that treble x does a fantastic job... just wear protection and don't breathe it in!!

Goggles are a must with this type of product unless you like your eyes to feel like they are on fire lol,
Used to use a similar product years back from starbrite?

My local independant motorfactor is a keen detailer and has just started stocking Autosmart stuff.
In july i got some of the Hazsafe TFR and while i dont use it on my own car i use it on the missus' and it's bloody good stuff.Smells a bit dodgy but most tfrs do.
I went in to see him last week and he recommended an aerosol for paint finishes its a silver can with a purple lid and i think its called smart trim.Again i used it on my bike rather than my car and it works well. The plastics and metal came up a treat.I cant help but notice it smells EXACTLY like Mr Sheen though
Im still a bit dubious using their stuff on my freshly sprayed car but i will continue to use my missus Golf as a guniea pig.
