Title: Little help please?? (Well actually a lot of help!)
Post by: ashman86 on 12 September 2011, 17:30
Hi Guys, I have had a few problems with my golf recently its a 1996 GTI 8v (AGG), firstly the idling of the engine is very erratic. The car then smells like its over-fueling and blue smoke comes from the exhaust before the idling causes the engine to cut out. I have changed the following, plugs, leads rotor arm, dizzy cap and also cleaned the throttle body.

Not sure if this is relevant but the fuel pump seems to be quite noisy of late.
Anyone have any ideas? I'm getting to the point of desperation!!

Thanks for the reply, I used a free version of Vagcom to scan for faults which picked up: 01250 - Fuel injector for cylinder 2 (N31) Short to ground. How can i fix it?
