Title: Hi all
Post by: Monsta Mo on 21 April 2005, 13:01
Hi all. Ordered a 5dr red GTI at the end of last month, delivery end July (allegedly) :lipsrsealed:

Just got rid of my MINI Cooper which was an absolute blast but due to family I'm moving to something more practical....but not that practical if you know what I mean! Was involved in the new MINI scene in Scotland (http://www.newminiscotland.co.uk) for a few years and hope the GTi scene will be just as much fun. Can't wait!

Welcome to the forum. I'm sure the GTI/VW scene will give you as much pleasure as the mini scene.

I'm guessing the VW scene will infact be even better than the MINI scene as GTi's have been around for a lot longer than the BMW MINI and therefore a bigger and stronger scene.

I wonder if MINI and mini owners clubs will ever see eye to eye. I thought after more than 3 years folks would have chilled a bit, but there still seems to ba masses of animosity from the classic owners which has got worse due to the recent Rover events.

I have to admit that we opened membership to classic Minis as they couldn't be bothered with all the back biting on the classic scene. Works really well and just added to the spectacle when we were out on runs. Let's hope there is still same sense of community across all types of VW.
