Hi,
I'm hopefully going to get a VR6 on Tuesday but the car has the original wooden gear knob which I hate.
Can anyone tell me what size the thread is ? is it an M10 or perhaps M12 ?
Cheers

It's an m12 but a fine pitch IIRC. Not normal m12x1.5 but m12x1
-
Cheers,
I've just bought one from a mk4 GTI, hopefully that'll fit ?
-
I thought the mk4 Golf's had clip on type gearknobs.

Welcome to the VR6 Baz
A MK4 GTI gear knob will fit.
A must when you get your VR is to join here.......

They can be made to fit by drilling the core out deeper and putting a small clip around the blue plastic base but obviously they're not direct fit.

Cheers for the help guys,
I have joined the VR6OC but for some reason I can't post any comments see any pics or photos which is really annoying !

I've got the gear knob from the mk4 golf, do I have to drill it then to make it fit the VR6 ?
-
No, Just get a jubilee clip to secure it.

The one i fitted from a Polo that had a clip on it like the mk4 Golf ones sat ultra high unless you drilled the core of it out.
