All legitimately insurance on a Clio 1.2.
If I get an interest free for 12 months credit card, 1150 quid because that needs paying up front. 150 excess.
Plan is drop my car for two months, buy Clio for 200 quid, get the loan for a grand, pay it off 100 a month.
Pull the Golf off the road and let the work commence. :evil:
Also been told I may be receiving a fairly large pay rise for working my absolute bollocks off for the last few months. :cool:
Or save up more maybe drop the car for a few months and buy a 306 1.9TD, insurance is 1400 and again get the loan for a grand.

I think you're setting yourself up for a massive fail by getting a loan to cover your insurance. Just my 2p's worth. Debt is a b!atch I would rather not get involved in.

Not really, actually saving on the inflated insurance company interest rates by using the 0% credit card.
If it is as I read it, the loan is the credit card? Or is there an additional loan?
Just literally use the card for the insurance and NOTHING else!

not a bad way of doing it, just so long as thats all you use it for!
im 20, have a c card, all i do is my weekley shop on it, when i get home, strate on the net and pay it off! way forward to get better chances of bigger loans /finance when im older etc.

just pay your insurance monthly duh.
costs a bit more but at least if you kill the car you can stop paying them rather than trying to get your money back

Over two grand paying it monthly.
Paying £200 a month now. If I do this, I save a grand.
If I bin the car, I'll just then use the Golf and have to pay extra rather then loosing the cash. Extra will be payed cash though.

I have done the same and put my years insurance on my 0% credit card instead of paying monthly. The interest rates which insurers charge are absolutely ridiculous, think mine was in the region of 50% APR. I simply pay my credit card off monthly at a reduced rate saving me ££. :wink:
FYI if you do pay monthly you are usually entering into a credit agreement with a 3rd party with the insurer getting the full annual premium up front.

The way your doing it is much more sensible than paying them the extortionate monthly rate :afro:
Just make sure you don't use the card for anything else & keep up with your monthly payments and your onto a winner :smiley:

Got £450 I owe to people ATM.
Paying that off then saving for a couple of months, then getting a car and the insurance.
Want to have money in the bank, £450 is a small debt, the most I've ever been in and desperately going to try and keep it that way.
Will be cutting the credit card up. :grin:
