Lol, diesel is the obvious choice considering theres a resesion on,but..... I do like 3000 miles a year, I'm getting out of a mapped 535d bm so all other diesels are disappointing (no offence) I like to go fastish for at least 3000 miles a year, and Craig "the doc" can do stupid things to gti's if I wish, which I do and also finally my first car 17 years ago was a White gti I'm fealing old now.
Thanks for the post help thingy by the way.
-
Maybe not the correct thread but Lee pm'd me, and mentioned 18" shadow wheels are they monza style but black inside the spokes?
Lee I am trying to reply to you sorry pal but I'm only an infant for now.

The five most boring colours by forum vote are:
http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=200960.0
1. Silver - Costs extra and tops the list by quite a margin
2. Red - Free
3. White - Free
4. Black (non-metallic) - Free / =4. Steel Grey - Costs extra
If you choose one of the above, you're on the right track.
I'd go with one of the free colours.
The guys on here know Jack Sh!t.
-
And the least boring colours by the know jack sh1t forum members are???
-
Basically what that survey REALLY says, if you can read between the lines, that the most 'popular' colours have become boring.
I hope this has clarified the matter, finally. :smug:
-
That's a bit like saying I'm going to turn gay as everybody sleeps with girls.

Reading between the lines you targeted that post at that time to try and get people to say that Carbon Grey and any derivative of Grey was a boring colour, it then backfired in a monumental twist when your colour (Boring Red) was 2nd on your own list of most boring and mine was ah yes at the bottom
I think we need an awards ceremony and you get SILVER
-
Will is gay, Craig is grey.
I am not evil like you Craig. There was no ulterior motive with that survey. I just tried on that day to revive the forum as it was in its death throes.
I am glad grey is a rising colour in these grey and depressing times especially in the Northern Wastes. I'm off to Paris for a late lunch.
-
I'll correct my English later. Must rush, dears!

IMO then you want an Edition 35 as it has the S3/Cupra/Edition 30 engine in it with the stonger internals and bigger turbo.
-
And Leather and xenons and.......
I agree 100% but its down to the waiting game which I'm not sure we're good at
-
Drivethedeal are listing a Carbon Grey GTI for immediate delivery @ £24.5k with a half decent spec.

Would have a 35 edition or an R but if I'm honest I think the gti with 18"s looks the best.
-
I could be tempted by the power, xenons and 4x4 though.
Actually I recon when Clarkson for example gets his paws on one he will say the 4x4 makes it less fun and too safe, what ever that means.
10 posts, I'm like a golf pro now!

They'll love that
-
You know that's what jc will say "this 4x4 £150000 Lamborghini won't kill you, it's sh!t, buy a Ferrari that will"
Funny thing is remember I always said I prefered the look of a black Mk5 gti with 18's to my mk5 r32. Same aplyes now with the new ones. And I think a golf with a base price of £30~ should look chunkyier and the R looks great but not chunky enough no more than a gti, same can be said about the S3 never mind £40 RS3.
That might wind up some R owners but it's not meant to, your very lucky boys.
-
I think i remember EVO saying he had or was going to supply an Edition 35 with Monza shadows
-
Well thats just great isn't it. now I'm not going to be able to sleep or eat or anything. You should be carefull what you type! It can effect people's lives. Why would you do this? It's like randomly shouting out KFC! Think man think! If only I could sleep I'd hibernate till the delivery day.
I would like one of then by the way.
-
If you could get about 10% off an ED35 it wouldn't be bad value considering the standard spec is quite high. All you'd need to add would be audio and sensors.

White is a 'fad' colour.
Black is for hearses.
Carbon Grey it has to be then , unfortunately.

I'll leave a note on the car when I pass it on Saturday with details of Carbon Tuning. It's in perfect condition. Paintwork is immaculate with no swirl marks when viewed in sunlight or under street lamps. No dents, scratches, stone chips. I've checked it out very carefully! It is a '59' Plate and has no parking sensors F or R. The tail pipes also need cleaning.
Regarding the Atom, it must have slipped my busy/senior mind to PM you. Sorry.
I did speak to him about a month ago and he is not selling. Strange chap.
-
Just returned after leaving a note in a plastic envelope on the white GTI. Oh, it does not seem to have folding mirrors.
-
Haven't been on here for a while and this thread has me laughing.
The last time I left a note on a VW Golf was in 2008 when I wrote a well composed letter, with my banking details & detailing company website details attached warning a MK5 R32 owner that his distasteful (car was filthy and mags had not been cleaned in years), Metallic Black (boring colour) petrol drinking car still had its transporter blocks shoved between the springs on all 4 wheels.
I kindly asked for remuneration as I had done him a favour by saving him and his family from a terrible accident and shortly thereafter sent him a mail asking if he wanted his R32 detailed.
His response was not entirely positive.
*EDIT: I even dug up the pictures I took for this occasion:

Cant believe I still have these on my Photobucket Account. :lipsrsealed:

Thank you, I'm forever in your debt
