Hi Guys
I need to replace the exhaust manifold gasket, would you say its easier to remove the head with the exhaust manifold attached or is it easy enough to get to the exhaust manifold bolts from above and below the car.
Just want some ones opinion based on experience
TIA

It may be a ball ache undoing them from above and below, but could end up with additional problems if you take the head off. You will probably have to replace the head and rocker gaskets if you do it that way too, and will probably take longer as you will have to remove the mani from the centre pipe as well so will need to get under the car anyway. Better off biting the bullet and expecting raw knuckles and a pain in the arse of a job, but you will encounter less problems from top and bottom.

From below is easier
+1 - so much easier if you are working underneath
