Nope
How about an Octavia / Passat?
-
Well the audi im looking at is the same age and has the same engine size 1.9tdi. Im merely describing it as a fwd 1.9 tdi of the same era. My dad has the audi A4 1.9tdi and it is a very good car for not alot of money, just spotted a golf estate 1.9tdi very close to me for even less money.
-
Lots of variants of the 1.9 engine mind
90
110 (both non PD)
115
130
150
What year and budget you looking at?
-
Not sure on year really, guess around the 2001 up and limit is 2k. I want as much bang for my buck without been raped for parts. This is the golf I have been looking at but the guy hasnt got back to me.

Anyone know anything I should look out for on the same era audi 2.5 TDI lump?

Anyone know anything I should look out for on the same era audi 2.5 TDI lump?
I think from what I have read the 2.5 TDI is not that good a lump, stick with the 1.9.

I think Im just chasing power. 2.5 V6 TDI it has more bhp and more importantly alot more torques than the 1.9

Speak to DH, he knows his stuff but I don't think the 2.5 is that good tbh.

2.5 V6 is a terrible engine
Mate with a Passat had one and he had to have the head rebuilt
Also, they don't feel like they have 170bbhp :undecided:

It all seems to be mixed reviews on the 2.5 V6. Mainly the conclusion is make sure it has a full service history and ensure the correct oil has been used for most of the life of the engine. Going to have a look at one in an hour anyhow so will report back

Blokes a f**king tosser, back to square one then :embarassed:

I thought the Audi / VW V6 TDi was only 150bhp which is why the A4 and A6 never got the 1.9TDi PD 150bhp engine from the Golf etc and stuck with the 115bhp and 130bhp.... :undecided:
As said though is wasn't the best engine, not good on fuel and not very powerful. Sounded good though!!

There are 2.5 5 cylinders and there are 2.5 V6s.
When I last drove a V6 TDI I was massively underwhelmed.
Doesn't have the gutsy delivery of the 4-banger TDI.
2.5 5-banger though. Go on. It'd be a bit old, but hey, what's not to like about the older A6 Avants?
Go look on Mobile.de and think about nipping over to Germany to pick something up - huge range of interesting stuff out there.

Just about to go pick up A4 estate 1.9TDI. Cheers for all the help and advice as per. Love you guys

Personally, beg to differ. Town/fun driving yes, motorway 600miles a weekend, I'd prefer the V6 for the smooth delivery even if it wasn't as "go".
