Title: Alarm draining battery
Post by: sKrEwBaLL on 17 September 2003, 13:11
Hi

If I leave my alarm on for more than a couple of days, when I go back to the car, the battery is completely flat (the battery is fairly new).  Any ideas why this is happening..??

Cheers

Neil

Something wrong with the alarm i guess. Try a specialist.

if it doesn't happen then you leave the car without the alarm on then yes, it must be the alarm.  ;D

There should be a back up battery that the alarm use's, maybe if this is flat its using the main (car) battery to keep you car alarmed.

or again, the alarm could be faulty and need replacing.

What alarm is it? and model?

It sounds like the alarm is draining your battery. Iwould have the battery checked out just to make sure and go from there. A lot of alarms have power feeds out for electric window closing etc and one of these may be shorting out causing battery drain.

Get it looked over properly
