Title: MK2 clutch choice.

Right so the pedals been getting heavier and heavier, then put foot on clutch the other day it it want bang in first gear.

So box is out and clutch looks ok, cable is also ok, push rod is ok and gear box is ok (i hope) ??

Anyway its a GU 1.8 engine with a GTI box. So which clutch to go for GU or GTI ?

The clutch has to suit the box (input shaft). You'll have to confirm its a gti box by the code stamped underneath it, before you order

Yep defo. Box is AUG 050. 1.8 8v (pb) gti right ?

Think that means august the 5th, 1990. That's the date of manufacture. It'll be an 020 or similar box if its a mk2 gti
