Title: bigger engine

i have a digi 8v gti on h plate but want more power(but not a 16v wanna stay 8v)
if i get it rebored to 1900cc wot else will i need??
 pistons or can i just use bigger rings??
anything else??
or i have read that a 2 litre block just bolts on??
is this true??
wot car can i find doner engine in etc etc??
lagain wot will i need to do this conversion??
which is the cheapeat easiest and wot power gains will i see??

Going bigger capacity will only offer minimal power gains unless you have some head work..

1.9 means boring the block and new pistons/rings..

Go for a complete running 2.0 8v from a mk3 golf, early passat with gasflowed head, web camshaft 111 or 125 profile or similar & chipped ecu..

This should give you a very good power increase over your standard GTI!!  :grin:

have a look at my project section as i'm doing something similar at the moment. i was advised against doing a 2ltr conversion for what ever reason so opted for a 1900 re-bore, after i cracked a piston. with this i already had a piper 285 cam and have had my head done to go with this.
