has anyone had central or electric windows fitted after market?
my mates just bought a 1.4e golf which dosen't have either. i know you can get door cards and handles of ebay or a scrappy cos the door card is diferent. but are all the electrics innthe door ready to do it ?
anyone?

very costly job to do it properly.. keys/fob, switches, wiring, mechanisms, ecu
if your mate really wants to do it he'd be better off getting all aftermarket kit, even then it might be cheaper to sell the car and find one with leccy windows and CL as standard :undecided:

really that expensive eh. i'll let him know.
at least he'll get bigger muscles by winding the window up and down !

A scrappy for the window motors/switches.. For the CL some top clifford alarms have lock motors etc..

central locking isn't that expensive, i got a generic kit for my friends toyota starlet from maplins £28 (inc. my student discount!) for 4 motors, the control module and the wiring loom. Its not that hard to fit, but basic knowledge of electronics is useful!
i think the windows would be harder to do as you'd have to take the winders off and it wouldn't look all that pretty.
I don't think any clifford alarms come with lock motors, they do come with the relay to control them though, but i don't install alarms for a living so bullitt may be right . the maplin kit i bought has a earth lock/unlock and interfaces nicely with a scorpion alarm i got off ebay.
now when you press the disarm button the doors open.
