Title: Is the word Yankee racist ?

There is a baseball team called the Yankees , is this a term for a white american ? Just curious has there have been some issue's with this word being used in mk6 section  :undecided:

Who cares, its the mk6 section. There are nazi forums which are less totalitarianistic

is putting on a scottish accent racist? A scottish bloke kept telling me it was. Personally  I consider it a regional accent similar to those who live in London (cockney), Birmingham, Newcastle and Dorset.

I told him to stop being so sensitive.

Yank can't be racist because it's said about 10 times on an advert for the channel e4

I've been told before by an american that it can be seen as racist to some people as it is specific to a certain part of america, but then another american told him to stop being a dumbass

Certain parts of the US, i.e The Southern States hate being called Yankees, for obvious reasons.

But then again, the Southern States kept blacks as slaves and voted George W Bush into office, twice.


You could try pointing this out in the Mk6 Section, but Americans don't understand irony.
