Title: sunroof will not close :(
Post by: RIPP3Y on 02 September 2011, 23:46
hi, i got a problem with the sunroof.
I parked the car outside a shop and on my way in pressed the remote central locking which seemed to work as normal, only to come out and find that the sunroof has opened and wont close. All i have tried is to squirt WD40 towards the back of the runners.
Any thoughts on this anyone??

Bare in mind that the remote locking closes any open window and the sunroof,  oh and the sunroof was closed before locking the car.

 Thanks for any advise

Will it close by hand, if so then maybe the motor has failed.

Get a test lamp and check for power @ the motor if so it has failed if not blown fuse or wiring issue.

If you pop the cover off the headlining where the motor is. There should be an Allen key clipped to the motor. Use that to manually shut the sunroof.
