Title: Red, Grey, Black or Green ?

I'm after a MK3 GTI but can't decide what colour to go for, so I thought I would get a general consensus as to what you all thought ?

I have had a black and red one. Red was a lot of upkeep but did look good after a good wash and polish. If I was to get another it would have to be black.

but personally colours the last thing ide be botherd about. ide be more looking for one that ticks all the boxes i.e good engine. good condition. good price. No rust

if its the colour that YOU like the most then thats a bonus.

Red - cos eventually it'll be so many different shades of red you'll have a harlequin :wink:

Black - cos it'll need cleaning every 10 mins to look good (as I have found out) :wink:

Post by: thai-wronghorse on 04 September 2011, 01:25: I've had black, as mentiond they're a nightmare to keep clean. My last one was dragon green and that looked good but my current and favourite colour of them all and least common is my storm grey valver.

p.s. NO MORE RED MK3's!!

Post by: tdi_blu on 06 September 2011, 08:22: Im not mad on Dragon green as theres millions of them yes theres also plenty of flash red ones about but they just look really fresh and bright.The storm grey is also a nice colour but if I was after another mk3 it would be in the metalic blue im not sure of the name but heres a picture of my friends Tonys car only picture ive got is his sig awsome colour and pretty rare :grin:

I didn't even consider buying a blue golf before I got mine, really like the colour now (Fjord blue) See my sig

I love the colour of mine(LA9V Brilliant black metallic) but like has been said it's a b!tch to keep clean and after getting it resprayed im majorly anal about it staying shiny :undecided: :nerd:

I was going to buy a Dragon Green VR6 off a guy in Kent but now he's said that he can't find the log book which has really put me off so I'm not going to bother with it.

But I've also found a mint, red 8 valve GTI which I'm going to look at tomorrow, so fingers crossed !

Hopefully I'll be getting a black 3 door VR6 on Tuesday. It's been fitted with Hella twin headlights, any idea what the bulbs would be for these as I have some H1's & would like to know if they'll fit ?
