Ive just started to get strange whiney noise from what seems to be the rear drivers side wheel. This whiney noise is more apparent when parked up and engine is running at tickover does alter slighty with revs. Its sounds like coming from rear drivers wheel area but also all under the rear of the car i cant pin point it
Any ideas
Thanks

if car isn't moving then its likely to be engine, especially if it varies with RPM. You need to pin-point it really. Could be belts, alternator / PAS / A/C etc.

its the fuel pump. just had a look at it under inspection cover unplugged it and the whining stopped. took the fuse out and the whining stopped.

ive just recently changed the fuel filter so unless its sucked some rubbish in i dont think its that. could it be the relay? The wining noise stops when i unplug the pump and also if i take the fuse out. if i turn right the noise quietens a little

Are you low on fuel?

It was on empty till i filled it up last night then the noise started.

Maybe the pumps just on its way out ,get yourself a spare ready and run that one till you get chance to swap
