Title: 9/11 - The Firemen's Story
Post by: Wazzzer on 31 August 2011, 21:33
Anyone watching it? So sad to see the Firemen recounting how their mates died next to them and what they did to help.

RIP for all the brave lives cut short that day

Watched it, pretty gruesome in places but it was the day that changed the world as we know it.

Defo, a lot of these theories are baseless, unquantified assumptions and unfortunately do effect the families.

Watch out for the other program they will undoubtedly show over the next couple of days, its made from cellphone camera's and video camera owners, and pieced together in real time, it called something like "105 minutes that changed America" NOT to be missed if they show it, as I remember it, the only commentary is that of the people filming.

Whole thing still brings tears to my eyes...

My dad was a firefighter in London, they got shown the footage of the FDNY making the documentary in the twin towers when the plane hit. Was such a weird coincidence.
Then all of a sudden you hear all these thudding noises, and it's bodies hitting the floor
Was that footage ever released to the public? I don't remember seeing it anywhere on TV.

Ive watched a few things on 9/11 and always find it really hard to watch, end up switching over and turning it off. Very upsetting stuff.

Its so sad but I find these sort of programs addictive viewing. Its probably one of the most memorable and tragic pieces of history we will ever see in our lifetimes. One of those times where you remember where you were when it happened.

A mate of mine was staying in a well known hotel in Dubai at the time. They were watching the events unfold in the hotel bar and there were a group of Arab's in there cheering away at pictures like they were watching a football game

It was shown once IIRC, never to be seen again by the general public with good reason

I remember watching the second plane hit the tower live on TV with my mate round his parents, didn't want to do anything after seeing that

I remember I was on my way home from school, someone said something about it and I joined about 20 people watching the footage on the TVs in the window of an electronics shop.
Was sickening.

I was 10 at the time, and my mum and I didn't know about it until late evening. We walked past an electronics shop with the news on the and they were showing the planes hit the towers. My mum thought it was a film and walked on. When we got home my grandma called and told us about it
