Got in the car this morning for work and my clutch pedal is almost touching the floor
I can still change gear, just the biting point is literally an inch from the floor! Does this sound like the cable needs adjusting or replaced or is it worse??

Ok been busy with my head under the hood and searching the forum, ive got a 16v its hydraulic clutch not cable. Ive found a pipe thats nackered, it connects to the fluid resevoir. It just slides off, not secure at all. Is this resevoir for brakes and clutch? If so then im guessing theres probably air in the system so will need bled once ive replaced the dodgy pipe??

Yep, replace the pipe and bled through, should sort it all ok.

Iv'e never seen a Golf hydraulic clutch but have seen many others. Are you sure the pipe you mention is not just a feed pipe to the slave cylinder ?.

Erm, not sure where the slave cylinder is lol The pipe I'm talking about looks like a braided hose, it's connected to the reservoir for the brake fluid. It just slides off & clearly has fluid leaking from it.

Yes it will be, the cylinder is in the pedal box.
