Could be around £120 or so, VW ones are about that. Essentially, could be the same sensor, but best to check you do put the right one in just incase.

Different vehicles generally have different lambda sensors as the number of wires/length of wires and connector plug can vary. The actual sensor part is usually the same.

"Universal" lambda sensors can be bought cheaply from any motor factors, around £40-£50. Universal ones are sold with bare ends and have either 1,2,3 or 4 wires.

All you need to know is how many wires yours has. Then chop the plug off the original, and connect it to the replacement sensor.

Cheap lambda sensors dont tend to last very long though. If you're opting for aftermarket and keeping the vehicle, go for NTK (part of the NGK group), Bosch or any other well-known make.

If your not planning on keeping it forever just stick a universal lambda on it.I was looking at one for her MK4 but as its pre cat and a 5 wire wideband it's £168

She will have it for a few years so might aswell do it properly !

Got a Ngk one for £65.03 including vat! Ecp etc wanted £90+ vat lol

Glad I shopped around . And now she wants me to buy a netbook/ laptop so I can scan it myself again instead of relying on a friend...

As I saved her like £100 than going to a garage :)
