Dear Wise Ones,
I have been asked about the value of a 5 door 1.8 Syncro, and haven't really got a clue. Pretty good nick, apparently, with 120k on the clock, but no history. Owner has had it for years and claims mileage is genuine.
Any ideas? I think it is a 1990?
Cheers,
Martin

prob about 1200 quid i reckon especially as it has no history

Thanks. Will be interested to have a look and check his description of "good nick"! Need a few more details really, but might make a nice project for someone.....

Just to give you some idea I was watching a golf synchro on ebay that ended on sunday. I thought it might make an interesting project at some point down the line. I didn't bother bidding in the end but it only got up to £155!!! The reserve wasn't met and I would say it was worth more but it just gives you some idea of what people would be willing to pay.
-
i wouldnt pay anything over about £750 for it. the only reason it would command extra money is because its a syncro. yet you dont know any history of the syncro system - and they aint exactly cheap to fix!
-
yeah, go low. old cars do not make the money and a syncro is nothing different in that respect.
i'd go 500-750. the only value its got is the "rarity" value a golf enthusiast would pay, but its not in the same catergory as G60s etc.

what is the syncro, im guessing 4wd????? :undecided: :undecided: :undecided:

yep......
