Title: help my cooling fan not working

hi ,need a bid of help please, only had my golf a month its a mk3 gti 8v with agg engine,got stuck in traffic for the first time today and it started to overheat,fan didnt kick in ,ive checked the fuses all seem fine ,dont know how to test or where to look now,i have the 3pin sender unit on rad,want to get this sorted asap as i dont want to get caught out again,thanks folks

take a feed off the battery and run to the terminals for the fan, 1 will be neg and other two terminals will be high and low speed, so pos to high/low if fan spins then sensor in the rad is fubar

tried this and fan not working, are they repairable or do i jusdt get a new one? is it an easy fit?
