Just bought this:
http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_163079_langId_-1_categoryId_165572
The one i got says "professional" not sure if it makes a difference :undecided:
I was fed up of missing sockets and never having the size i needed with my old Kamasa set.
I know it wont be the best quality and not a patch on snap on of the likes but im sure it will be fine for what i will be using it for.
How do any of you rate Halfords professional tools?
Any way the price said £59 half price. When i took it to the till the guy said £79.99.
Told him the price said £59 and he went and looked yeah your right he said - i need to ask the manager.
He came down and said just override the price and they only charged me £59  :afro:

I have that socket set, got no compliants! It's served me well so far
-
i`ve got the 150 piece one and can`t fault it,
ideal tools for home use
-
Great stuff
It says lifetime guarantee so cant be too bad
-
Looks good that does mate. I've got a smaller set than that, think it cost about £25. Best purchase I've made. All the parts still work perfectly and feels good quality too. Like you mentioned lifetime warranty, so whilst it isn't snap on you can just replace as often as required!!

I would love to have that collection so when you do a job you know you will have all the tools.

That's why I'm so glad I bought a proper set. I used to have to scrape around trying to find the right bit, or an inventive alternative. However now I know I have everything I need in one set

Use them all and they should last quite some time. I bought cheap when I was doing my apprenticeship and most of them have broke so they have been replaced with quality

Crazy.. Do they do toolkit insurance?

I have had the halfords socket set for about five years now, use it quite often and never let me down at all.. One of the few halfords things that hasn't. Good for home mechanics :)

I have the same kit Rich but in older packaging. Only thing it could do with is a new case as the clips have gone but your one has the better metal versions. I've done all the work on the Golf and my ERST with it :afro:

Rich that Halfords Professional set is fine for working on a Mini. I bought my socket set about 14 years ago and it's still going strong with no problems at all. Standard use will not break it. Hitting it with a hammer generally just causes small nicks in the surface of the tools :lipsrsealed:

At least it will get some real use with my mini

Once had thee halfords professional socket but the ratchet broke.
Use an am pro set (got cheap from europarts). 150 pounds of pressure and still going strong.
