Title: New owner - Red Anniversary TDi
Post by: GTiAnniversaryMan on 29 August 2011, 03:00
Hi all. Joined last week. Just PXd my Audi S4 (had it four years) and drove my new Anniversary home. 2002, 62K, pristine inside and out (save for a couple of stonechips)

What a blast. Not super-quick like the Audi but the nearest thing to driving my old 1966 Morris Cooper S which I sold in 1979. Nippy, quick, fun, character............... Tornado red - GOT to be the best colour. Love all the styling touches. Liked the S4 as it was unobtrusive and the boy racers in their slammed Clios etc were always gosmacked when the balding old git in the reen "A4" blew their doors off. Ironically I like the Anniversary because it's so obvious.

I think this is a keeper! 70+ mph most of the way for 120 miles of M1 and I averaged 51 mpg (as opposed to 20 in the S4). Bags of oomph whenever I needed it. Comfy. Wonder what it would be like remapped.......................?.

Got to laugh: KwikFit claim the Anniversary is In Gp 39 (and that my S4 was 36 - WTF?) Want to charge me £800 to insure it. The S4 was only £450. Had to do the deal with them as had no time to set new one up. Since gone on Go Compare etc. Quotes start at £360 and go to £600. Have to sort them out tomorrow! Parkers show Audi S4 as Gp39, Golf Anniversary as Gp31, Standard GTi PDi 150 as 27. KwikFit are having a laugh!

Read a lot of posts on here last week. Some really knowlegeable and helpful enhusiasts on this forum.

I'll try direct line. Checked this morning the Anni is Gp31 and the S4 Gp39. What she was talking about before I dont' know. Got it down to £800 allowing for 7yrs NCD. Apparently; incuding protection for my NC is doubling the premium - so without it would be £400 ish.

Any advice on how to post an image? When I click on "Insert Image" I t just does this: "(http://)"

Might be worth signing up to photobucket to help post pictures on there you can copy and then paste the image code into your comment thread. Keep shopping round for your insurance you should get a good deal somewhere.
