Not to sure MR VR6, I know Van Aaken are near the old TRL in crowthorne where the old GTI International was held. Other than that not to sure.

Any one know any Surrey based VW tuners?

I had my 1995 Mk3 VR6 chipped, and had asked for a before and after dyno reading, which they quoted in there bumf was what they supplied.

When they handed the car back to me with a dyno plot it only showed the figures with the chip fitted. On asking for the figures before it was chipped I was just shrugged off with the fact the chip had made an improvement on the performance. To be honest the car did'nt feel any different so I personally would not bother and I had nothing in my had to prove it did.

So if you do decide to go for one then make sure you get a reading before its fitted or you could just be taken for a ride.

One thing that has made a big improvement to my VR6 is the VSR manifold in the low down torque, and the fuel economy is slightly better by 1-2 mpg over a steady 20 mile run. Im glad it did as the feeling of wasting money is not a good one especially if its a lot like the VSR was.

Cheers geezers. I'll definately be careful if i do get it done. I want a shrick manifold too, but they are loads of bucks.

I would thoroughly recommend 'AutoTechnik' they are just the other side of Southampton and I don't think a trip down the motorway would be too long for you?

Their number (in case you don't have it) is 023 80 666200. They are very knowledgable and I think a chat with Alan would be very fruitful - they are very experienced at modifying cars. Kind regards, yt.

I have had experience of Autotehnic , and i must say i think they are very poor. I bought some calipers off them, which had poor seals, they supplied another set which then again had the same problem. I bought a seal kit from VW, fitted them and no problems. I don't think you should expect to have to change seals on calipers that are supposed to be brand new.

I'm sorry to hear you didn't get on with them. I wonder if the calipers they supplied you with were actually from German and Swedish ? - I believe they are just across the road from Autotechnic. Kind regards, yt.

Could have been , i don't know. Unfortunately i think if they supplied more than one duff set then they must have known there was a problem.
