Hope they go well for you but disclosing the reserve can often help.Reserves put a lot of people off. Also,be careful about accepting payment by Paypal for a collection only item. You would have no Paypal cover at all.

Payments by Paypal do not cover items that are collected in person or by the buyers courier.Basically a buyer can pay by Paypal, collect the goods and then claim non receipt (or claim an "unauthorised payment").

As a seller,to satisfy Paypal and qualify for Seller Protection< you would have to prove delivery by giving Paypal a tracking number from your courier that shows delivery (they only accept online tracking from some delivery services, not all of them).Without that your payment will be refunded to the buyer so they get the item and their money back.Paypal will then put your account into a negative balance and send it to a debt collector (Paypal also share your info with Experian). It's into small claims court territory then and then, even if you win you would have a hell of a job forcing the "buyer" to pay you.

Unfortunately Ebay insist that you accept Paypal for nearly everything so if you put "cash only on collection" you run the risk of your ad being removed or a buyer insisting that you accept Paypal. If you refuse the buyer can complain to Ebay and your account is then at risk.

There are a lot of scammers on Ebay.Maybe only 000000.1% of all members but that still amounts to a fairly large amount.

Here's an example. :- http://www.thisisleicestershire.co.uk/Hunt-PayPal-fraudster/story-12068075-detail/story.html

Hope i did'nt put you off  :undecided:

Ebay can be a great place to advertise something but with no intention of actually selling it through Ebay.If you list something at auction with no reserve (start it at 99p so it wo'nt cost you anything with 1 free pic),add a mobile number and see what happens. You can end the listing and cancel all bids anytime you like (as long as it has 12 hours or more to go) if you do'nt wish to continue and by the time it closes you might well have sold it elsewhere anyway .

If you get interest in an item that can only be collected and the buyer wants to arrange collection then you could consider bank transfer, cash paid in directly over the counter at another branch of your bank, cash sent registered post or chq/postal order (subject to clearance).

Something like your wheels might sell more easily in the "for sale" section on this forum.Good luck.
