Post by: jnufcuk on 27 August 2011, 15:39
Currently trying to sell golf mk4 2.0gti with 83k miles, fsh. Mot is running out end of month but have now got it booked it for next week, also it has no tax. It is a 3rd black great condition iside and out.

Had it 6 months ago for 2k then dropped to 1800 now it's at £1500?
Does thst sound fair to you ?

Starts first time and everything just upgraded to 1.8t thst was all.

Thanks

Sounds like reasonable money tbh. Buyers will obviously be put off as the MOT was about to end, so they are naturally gonna be cautious as it could have run out due to major expenditure needed to pass. As soon as u get a new ticket it should be much easier to sell though.

Ye it was lucky I checked as I thought it was next month  I haven't used it for a month or two and was fine up to then so I'm bloody hoping it passes

To gti or mk4 people in the knowledge people will say its a $h*t car etc etc but to people who arent so clued up will hopefully think and realise the car has been looked after and never give me any problems

Thanks

Exactly! Hence the reason I ended up with a mk3 8v and thought I had a bargain until joining this forum!

Sounds like the car is both over-priced and too cheap.

Never mind the badge snobbery, someone got a nice car for very little money.

As we all know a cars only worth what people are willing to pay my mate had a 1998 mk4 gti with 19s sat on his pitch for months it had a few minor dings but he was asking 1k which i thought was very cheep and he ended up taking less than that for it.....
