The brown wire has come away from the plug, its been like that a while as its a bit green and corroded.
Which function am i loosing from the brown wire? I suspect heating element as fuel economy is cack until im up to temperature. Then i'm getting around 27-30 mpg.
Is it easy to unplug that bit of the loom?
Looks like a big job.

visit VW for some repair wire. If you can solder.
Suggest you get the high temp version for where that connector sits.

i have a lambda sensor sitting here if you want it? £15 and it's posted

It's on the wiring loom rather than the lambda sensor with plug. It's bust right by the plug so there isn't anything to solder to really. Just need a piece of the engine loom and I'll solder in the new plug

vw did me the plug on the loom side with 4 lenghts of new wire on each terminal, just cut old plug off and soldered wires together, cost about £5 from vw main dealer.
