Title: Transmission Question

Hi All,

I have a 2002 MKIV GTi with automatic transmission.

The transmission has been very rough changing with quite a "clunk" especially around town.  It's OK on the open road when its working a bit harder.

After digging around these hallowed forums, I found the technique for resetting the shift computer (key on, press accelerator for ten seconds etc) and this certainly improved the transmission.  However, after 4-6 weeks, the clunkiness returns, so I reset again and away we go.

The gearbox was recently serviced with long life oil and this happens when the car is either warm or cold..

Any thoughts from the members?

No, none at all

Cool, never knew they did one with auto trans over here.
