hey folks finally got round to removing the head from the car probaly the easiest head iv ever removed, expecting too see a melted piston or valve but just a huge hole in the head gasket between 2 and 3 :smiley
needing a bit help and knowledge however
can any1 tell me the part number or where i can get the injector sleeves tht sit in the inlet manifold, kinda struggling too find any1 tht does them ?
i had to brake an injector to get the inlet manifold off,are there diffrent injector types for this engine ?
every time iv done a head iv always got it skimmed, how much can i skim it ? iv checked it with a straight edge and its ok to be fair so not sure wether its worth my while just leaving it
any help much appreciated cheers

VW will sell the injector seats, You will need to use an injector from the same engine as 16v is different.
Also yes get the head tested and checked.

minumum thickness for head is listen in the haynes. tbh you just sim them enough to get any distortion out and clean the face up.
16v heads tend to need a skim, you'll find that the diveders between the chambers tend to move a littel esp if the gasket has blown there. i usally knock 5 tho off and just look and if there are patches of metal that arn't clean another 5 tho comes off
