Title: Whats safer?
Post by: sychosis on 23 August 2011, 12:37
Hi

Quick question.

Whats safer? Hubcentric spacers that bolt to your hub then the wheel bolts to the spacer, or hubcentric spacer with longer bolts?

out of them to wouldnt it be the longer bolted ones, although is suppose spacers bolted to the hud and then wheel bolted to them works for hub adaptors fine

im gunna say spacers bolted to hub

They're both as safe as each other.

just use what you have to get the wheels on.

got failed exampels of both at work.

decent spacers that bolt to the hub are the better of the two bodges provideing they are made of a sutable material.

i wouldn't trust alloy ones TBH  unless i knew exactly what alloy it was made from and looked at the numbers myself. threads have a nasty habbit of stripping,  steel is much tougher but heavyer.

the other way if there is plenty of meat in the center of the rim is to drill and tap the rim and bolt the spacer to the rim then bolt though
