Hi all,
Not really into the scene anymore but still faithful to the VW Golf. I've owned a mk2 gti 8v, mk3 gti anniversary, mk4 gti 1.8t 20v & now a mk5 gt sport 170 dsg.
Anyway, enough of that! The reason I'm visiting your sight is to get some advice on the value of the 1985 B reg mk2 gti 8v my dad owns. He got it from a friend about 6 years ago where it had been sitting in his garage taking up space. Since my dad has owned it he has driven it twice when he first got it & now sits under dust sheets in, his garage. It's black, has the Pirelli P Slot wheels, full service history (not all Vw) & 55k on the clock! It also has lots of receipts for work carried out, mot's & tax docs. I did have a good look at it when he first got it & the only thing I could fault was a small dent on the door (car park ding). Interior in very good condition.
I'm just after a rough value as he's just declared he wants to sell it & I've no idea of the value.
Can anyone help?

In all fairness it's hard to say from your description but if it's in good condition and you put 12 months test on it should be able to raise £1.5K - £2K I would have thought.
