Title: Whooshing Noise
Post by: DubaiGTI on 22 August 2011, 13:01
Afternoon gents/ladies,

I've just returned from a 4 week break.  I've noticed when I start my car and blip the throttle in park mode I hear a whooshing noise.  The car is performing normally, no issues from a driving prospective.  Just an odd noise.

Any ideas?

Cheers

I'm a complete noob but sounds like a leaking DV valve, I'm sure the experts will be along soon to correct me!

Have you changed your induction? It's just the air being re-circ'd from your turbo to induction. Perfectly normal. If there was a leak the ECU will pick up on it.

I had the Revo stage one upgrade done awhile back.  Car is driving lovely, so as you say probably no cause for concern.

Thanks for the responses.

Worst case it will be a split pipe. BUT 1) the ecu would detect it and 2) seeing as you are doing it at idle I doubt it.

It could be the remap diverting a little more air back into recirc due to a slight overfuel at initial start up.
