Title: Alternatives to extortionate dealer prices ?
Post by: Graeme4130 on 20 August 2011, 21:38
I need a couple of things for my mark V and I must admit to being a little shocked and very nearly falling off my seat when my local dealership in Swindon quoted me for it.
These were ;
DSG oil/filter change @ £170
Replace, cut and reprogram lost key @ £160

As much as I'm not a cheapskate, I'm hoping someone can point me I'm the direction perhaps of a non VW dealer or route of getting either of these jobs done cheaper than the dealer seemed to want to pull my arm off for?
Any suggestions would be massively appreciated

Cheers in advance

Graeme

With the DSG I think your safer with a dealer tbh.

We've got a skoda and seat near by too, so I might try and pop in there next week to see if there costs aren't so high

My local Skoda dealer is a lot cheaper than the VW one so yes worth a go.
