Title: GTI 16V (KR) Gearbox type....?

Hi Guys - Got a 1988 (E) 16v (KR) lump and having issues with the gearbox.....2nd gear cream crackered (common in know). I was lookin to maybe get a replacement box but unsure what is the standard gearbox type/code is thats mated to the KR lump......?

Is there any alternative fix 2nd gear other than replacing the gearbox?

hmmnn - might have answered this myself if i had only looked first......

Think its AGB, 2Y.......That sound about right?

Being an 88 it's more likely to be a 2Y.
