Apparently it just dropped outa the sky when banking to come in for landing, like I said in my post (you beat me to it) this will be the governments excuse to now get rid!
It has crashed about 1/2 mile if that from my house!

A display team is non essential, so I'm surprised they got rid of front line sqn's and kept a display sqn.

Agreed, ive just been for a bit of a mooch, and it sounds like The pilot was having difficulties and he managed to steer away from castlepeoint shopping centre and the housing estates and ejected, but it was too late and they plucked him from the river.

Don't be sorry.

He knows everyone (right up to ACM) and everything.

Like I say, it's 'believed', doesn't mean it's true. Not all information is released yet.

RIP to him. I was at work unable to go see the airshow but once in a while groups of planes and large WW bombers flew past in Bournemouth direction.
Will be going Bournemouth beach tomorrow to see the final day of the show and also for Red 4's memorial from 8pm onwards.

Been out on the bike tonight and just passed the site and interestingly enough it looks like the are recovering some or all of the wreckage tonight as "Salvage 1" and clean up crew are out in force!

How is that interesting?  In what air crash was the wreckage not recovered and endlessly analysed to figure out what happened and why it happened?

Sorry, not having ever been involved in air crash investigation I just thought it would have been EASIER by daylight and not by the dead of night!

It is interesting because it's unusual to people not in aviation, even interesting to some who are. And he never said airframes are never recovered, or attempted to be recovered.

From all the news reports nobody would realise how close this is to houses either. The reality is that JUST the other side of the trees you see in the footage of the wreck in the field are lots of houses!

Maybe he really wanted to try and regain control. Could have been a case of 'I'm not letting this go down'. Who knows what happened, engine flame out, g-loc, who knows.

I've always said if my plane goes down, so do I, but I don't have an ejector seat anyway!

He did eject, but he may have died from the impact of hitting the ground, or unfortunately the aircraft could've been upside-down when he ejected.
