hi all. trying to do a bit of research and wondered if anyone can help.
the 2.0 porsche 924 engine is the 4 cylinder audi lump, or certainly the bottom end anyway. I have heard of people fitting the audi bottom end into the mk2 golf (or at least i think i have  )
what i am trying to discover is 1, will the 924 engine fit the golf mk2 gearbox? and if not 2, will the 924 head fit a 2 litre vw bottom end?

so engine is a no go.
anyone know if the head will fit 2.0 VW engine?

Why?

why not?
the head is cross flow so a better design, plus they did a turbo version using Bosch K jetronic which gave 170bhp out the box.
fancy the idea of doing some period correct type modifying
if i can get the head to fit either a mk3 bottom end or a bored out mk2 then it could be a pretty cool conversion

If you want a crossflow 2.0 then fit the 2.0 crossflow out of a late SEAT of Passat 2.0.
Weird ideas, full of fail.

Ford used to sell S2 XR2's on basis that its 0/60 was quicker than a 2.0 924, and it was.
Shame they all fell apart in the wet like most fords of that era
My dads neighbour has one under wraps, offered it to me for 2.5.
looks very dated now but some peeps think they are cool, each to their own

Crap engine was shared with the LT van from memory.

I may be wrong but i'm sure that the standard 2.0 924 engine was an audi engine and the turbo was the audi block with a new porsche cylinder head.
