i was just wondering if there was any sort of chip that you could just plug into the port under the climate control thing i have a w reg 115 gti tdi

Revo do one, which plugs into the VAGCOM port you mentioned - with switchable modes.  Not sure if they do it for your model - check out their website

there`s a new kiddie on the block for port tuning called giac thats come over from the states, supposed to be better than revo, the only people who have it will be at gti festival, go and have a word with them could have something for you :wink:

just looked at the revo chip i like the sound of it but does any 1 no if its any good?

yeah my mates got his audi rs4 chipped by them, unbelieveable!!!! its also switchable so if he wants to drive sensibly he can switch it back to stanard set up then change it as he feels. i've only heard good stuff about them.

has he just got the basic 1? or the more expencive one? im guessing the basic 1 will do the trick?

Revo are pretty well established and respected - lots of people on here have used it.

is there any where i can get the software cos they want £500 for the software witch seems bit steep to me?

not steep at all, that represents months and months of development and testing by a team of automotive technicians and software designers, not to mention the outlay of supplying dealers across the whole country .. yea it may be a little more than most, but revo is a world wide company with a reputation unmatched.

any remap you go for will just be "software" so dont be put off by the fact you're paying for something you cant touch
