Depends on what level of work you want done.

I was/am looking into a franchise with them. Went up to an open day where they did a demonstration by one of the franchisees for all to see. Was a silver pissrat (silver being the hardest colour to blend) and it was pretty damn good I must say! Depends what your local guy is like I suppose, but I honestly could not tell where the scratch (they actually just ran a brick up and down until they were through to bare metal) was after.

Some can be really poor quality, better to get it sorted by a bodyshop.

Depends on the bodyshop, the local one I use is loads better than the chipsaway cowboys.

Hardly very general and countrywide is one local bodyshop!

thought they done a great job painting a silver bumper from a hired car i had saved me my 500quid excess an only cost me 70quid plus vat

 have seen many repairs done by chipsaway both in and outside of the area I live and all were poor tbh
You cannot match and spray a small area working outside without it standing out like a small thumb.
See this expert repair below, carried out in Bath, they could not have got the match worse if they tried.

wayne that repair is pretty bad TBH have you complained to him? any luck in getting it sorted?
i wasnt thinking of getting any work done im thinking about the franchise!! wanted a few reviews before i said that.
when i was on the open day i was the only person that was under 30 and the only person that was in to cars and had a go at spraying before. did make me think why would people go into this sort of business without any interest in the job at hand.
from the hours of digging ive done on the net it seams to be a 50/50 split on good and bad.
thanks stu

My local ChipsAway guy is really good, as stated, depends who you get. There's an art to it and some people just don't have the knack.

I "Put right" repairs done by Chips Ahoy, sales cars from all over the country, Pay peanuts, you get monkey's working on your car...
So yes, in general, they're crap!

It was done before I got the car.
