How can one wall have 3 measurements???

Does it look like this:

                   0.5
                  ----
                 /.    |
                / .    |
               /  .    |
              /   .    |
      4.0   /    .    | 3.5
            /     .    |
           /      .    |
          /       .    |
         /        .    |
         ----------
             2.0

Just draw a vertical line down from the red dots to make a triangle and a square.  Work out the area of both.  Add them together.  Then you have the correct area of the garage.

length of the wall given as 8.6m multiplied by the height of the wall given as 3.5m comes to 30.1m2

good luck with the exam....sounds like you'll need it

8.6 m long wall x its height (3.5m) = 30.1 sqm]

handy tip for the day.... before you even attempt to answer any question, read the question thoroughly, then read it again, and then ask yourself what the question is asking, then read it again.... if in doubt read it again
