:sad: is it just a case of drilling them all out or is there some sort of tool to get them out.
its a 3 pin one so the bolt heads have 3 holes in a triangle.

Irwin extractors will get them out.

Get a socket thats just to small to fit it but will sort of go on abit if that makes sense lol hammer it on till it stays on and then undo it as normal :smiley: worked on the past 2 cars i had :smiley:

The three pin wheel bolts have a shroud around them that spins. Use a smaller socket to beat hell out of the bolt and bend the shroud off the bolt. This gives you a fighting chance to get them off as at this point you either jam an even smaller socket on like MattMK says, and hope it is tight enough to undo with, or you will need the removing tool as AudiA8quattro said.
It's that pesky spinning shroud that needs to go first.

Do the sensible thing.
Go to your local independent garage and ask them to remove the nuts.
Slip him £5.
Quick, easy, simple.
OR, you could potentially feck up the lock nuts necessitating them being drilled out.

this sounds like the wise option, i'm good at breaking things when trying to fix them :smiley:

and for your next set of locking nuts do NOT use them ones again! as the pins in the key easily snap, and i bet if you look at the holes on your locking nuts, they dont look like a perfect circle no more!
invest in a better set now :afro:

if you want to do them at home you could drill a pilot hole straight down the middle of the bolt untill you think its past the head of the bolt,
then use a drill bit the same width as the thread of the bolt and drill staight into the bolt using the pilot hole ,when you get far enough the head will come off.
then remove the wheel and use a pair of mole grips to remove the rest of the stud from your hub.

correct they have nearly blended together. i'm just gonna put non lockers in, havnt seen a car on bricks since the 80's plus who would steal standard gti wheels? :smiley:

desperate people!!! we live in a sh1te place at the mo what with the economy! you can get locking nuts for £20, a worthwhile investment id say!
i had a set of the 3 pin ones and i had the same thing happen to me! not fun mate not fun at all! lol

...havnt seen a car on bricks since the 80's...
There was a BMW (nothing special) just down the road from me, sat on its belly with all four wheels missing - the thieving gits didn't even have the decency to put it up on bricks! And I live in a supposedly good part of town!

Of yes i forgot about the spinning surround. Hammer and large flat head screwdriver or chisel, then irwin extractor :grin:
