Title: mk5 GTi fsi 200 DUMP VALVE
Post by: alexjhill on 16 April 2005, 20:52
before you go .. OH NO I know they do nothing for the car etc... this is my 1st turbo car I love the turbo wine i think VW have put a small and very subtle dump valve on the car but i'd like one a little more obvious not fast and furious loud!

i'm not driving and xr2i full wack downt the town.... i want a nice subtle but a little louder "tish" when i change gear, does anyone know of any where that would sell that for the new Mk5? not the Diesel version the 198 BHP petrol...

cheers chaps!

Alex

i would assume (although not positive) that the 2.0T fsi engine relies on both a map sensor in the manifold and the air mass meter to work out the fuel/air same as the later engined mk4 turbos did, which means you'd need a recirculating valve (which is what they put on as standard) .. sure you could uprate it with a piston type but it wouldn't be any louder.

at some point someone may develop a hybrid dv for them but its a bit early yet..
