Don't think so as the 1.4 is a small block with different mountings / bellhousing.

Thats correct, it wont fit,  the smallest you can go is from a 1.6 tall block, but there is also a 1.6 short block, from the polo which is the same as the 1.4,  But the tall blocks are hard come by now for some reason.  :undecided:
