Title: is this a tough job ?
Post by: jigger01 on 16 August 2011, 17:53
i went today to get my car tracked and was told by the guy that he couldnt do the tracking because ::::
o/s/f   suspension arm ball joint is worn
o/s/f   anti roll bar link bushes worn
n/s/f   lower suspension arm rear bush worn
n/s     steering rack end joint worn
o/s      steering rack end joint slight wear

is this a home fixable job for a novice mechanic

red ones are best( most of the time)

n/s/f   lower suspension arm rear bush worn - home fix - may as well get new wishbones
n/s     steering rack end joint worn - id say these are fixable at home
o/s      steering rack end joint slight wearand these too mate,

Anti roll bar bushes are not a DIY job due to the subframe needing droping down.

Anti roll bar bushes are not a DIY job due to the subframe needing droping down.

easy to do if you can get enough height on the car to get under it, a 2 post ramp would be best

Anti roll bar bushes are not a DIY job due to the subframe needing droping down.

It's only the inner bushes that require it to be lowered though, the drop Link bushes easily swapped without touching the subframe.

Fiddly enough with the subframe in my garage. Gotta be a b!tch just lowering the subframe impossible surely without lowering it least.
