http://www.comet.co.uk/p/Plasma-TVs/buy-SAMSUNG-PS51D550C1KXXU-Plasma-TV/714364
http://www.comet.co.uk/p/LED-TVs/buy-LG-47LW450U-LED-TV/730238
or do u recomend any others in the price range
cheers

3D TV? Never.
Just another gimmick with LOW quality images, nullifying most of your 1080 pixels.
Get a top of the range LED, they have contrast ratios as good as plasmas now and will have good scan rates, also low running costs to boot.
-
Panasonic are far superior to the LG & Samsung sets, my company sells all three.
I have a 50" 3D Panasonic on my wall at home and its awesome, we don't use the 3D all that often but its good to have...
Another alternative is to buy a refurbished one. Refurbished sets are really good value for money, every week Panasonic release refurb and box damaged lists to dealers (customer returns, etc) same guarantees but much better prices! I tend to buy these as and when and then sell them on ebay...
-
cheers
tomp what dealers are we talking like currys comet ect cheers for the info
-
No you wouldn't get a refurb through the any of the multiples like Curry's, Comet, etv, just through Independents like us.
We are actually a Panasonic Service Centre as well so we do all of the above's under warranty repairs in our area.
If your not a mad hurry to get one then I can get you a price on a refurb 3D set in about the 50" size, when there is next one on the lists....

Plamsa for PQ
3d probs not worth it the now. Its worth checking hotdeals to see whats been posted recently.
Richer Sounds do some good prices during the summer on TV's worth checking out there site. I would stay away from LG tv's (plasmas anyways) - they have some design flaws.
Hanspree is a very good upcoming make from the US. Cheap tv without the comprise on PQ. Bought a 42" LCD Full HD for th  bedroom last month from ebuyer for £300. Very impressed with the design, build and quality. That was from ebuyer.
Check out AV forums to see what is being recommened. TBH, you should need to spend anymore than £600 for a good 50" set

Would love to know how you can say Panasonics Top of the Range is better than Samsungs? Being an ex Engineer for Samsung im not saying Panasonic are bad that would be stupid but Samsungs top of the range LED displays are Incredible for the price!
Also bare in mind when buying an expensive Tv a warranty is good for example if you go to john lewis the will price match against comet or curries and you get there 5 yr warranty which is worth its weight in gold as john lewis customer service is next to none unlike comet or curries who are shocking!

In reality it comes down to personal preference. I spent ages looking at half a dozen or so top brands before picking my Samsung. Panasonic and Sony weren't as crisp or sharp as the visuals the Samsung can provide. The only other brand I would have realistically considered is LG, some of their newer units are excellent.
-
tomp what area are u in m8 that would be great if ur not a million miles away
when i was in currys the other day the bloke in there was saying panasonic are one of the best tvs as they made pioneers tvs for them how true i dont know but he seemed to know what he was talking about

Point is though, what looks good to me won't always look the same to someone else. There's no right or wrong really, all the top brands produce some great products. Get yourself down to Richer Sounds mate, they have a great set up for comparing TV's, and their prices ain't half bad either!
-
Weird my reply disappeared!
Below is a list of Panasonic's current 3D line up, pretty much all of them have won awards...

I'm in North Wales

Samsung all the way, I've got the 55" led telly in my lounge and the things amazing on hd stuff, much better than the 50" samsung plasma it replaced although the 50" looks cool on my bedroom wall
My Mrs had sweet FA to do with our tv purchases btw
-
Yeah RS do some decent warranties mate, just a bit more for 5 years warranty. Plus they price match.

Panasonic 50VT30, this is what I have at home....
07/2011 TX-P50VT30, What Hi Fi, 5 Stars, July 2011
"A formidable 2D and 3D picture performer, this could be the best plasma TV we've tested to date."
06/2011 TX-P50VT30, HDTV Test, Highly Recommended Award, June 2011
"There is no comparable flat-screen television that gives the same rich blacks, excellent screen uniformity, freedom from input lag, and lack of 3D crosstalk."
05/2011 TX-P50VT30, AV Forums, Highly Recommended Award, May 2011
"Overall, we just couldn't fault the 3D experience on the VT30..."

To be honest bud most led and plasmas sound are not the greatest i can say my tv isnt great on its speakers but with a home cinema or av setup who cares and 99.9% of people buying an expensive tv or decent tv willopt for some kind of home cinema kit as they are simply ace! it completes the experience

and won 8 awards

and well the reviews speak for themselves

I can second that with sound, I don't think I have ever turned the volume up on my TV! I have a Denon 7.1 surround amp and panasonic speaker setup, we bought a derelict cottage a couple of years back and I plastered all the cables into the walls
-
The Samsung does look impressive but it is very subjective:
Verdict:
It oozes style, but some problems with image quality and poor internet TV functions prevent the 8000 from becoming a showstopper.

i keep edging towards the 51" samsung on my first post but the lg 3d seemed better in the shop when i looked saying that he couldnt get the 3d video to work properly on the samsung so didnt really get a good look at that but the 2d to 3d looked pretty good on the samsumg
decisions decisions

It has to be a matter of preference really, we definitely sell more Panasonics than anything else and we sell Panasonic, Samsung, Sony, Sharp, Toshiba, and then some cheaper makes.
As for the reviews, was just stating that is is subjective for the above reason, you obviously prefer Samsung, I prefer Panasonic, doesn't make either of us wrong...
-
True does your company only service panasonic with repairs?
-
No we do others too, we don't just do televisions, we also do alot of commercial stuff so we have service agreements in place with quite a few manufacturers
-
Cool and i bet u get discount ;) that was the best thing about samsung discount lol allmost every apliance down to the micrwave in our house is samsung lol
-
