Hi,
I am swapping mk4 calipers onto my mk2 gti. Have got to the stage where I need to disconnect the hardline brake line from the brake hose that connects to the calipers as I am fitting the conversion hoses. I cant seem to disconnect the hard line from the hose, I am rounding off the 11mm bolt and think I'm about to snap the copper pipe! Is there a trick to this?
Thanks!

are you using brake pipe spanners ??

No? Just normal spammers. What's the difference?

Need to use proper pipe spanners like thishttp://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/6-Piece-Flare-Nut-Brake-Pipe-Spanner-Wrench-Set-/250708317199?pt=UK_Hand_Tools_Equipment&hash=item3a5f61540f#ht_2845wt_989 (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/6-Piece-Flare-Nut-Brake-Pipe-Spanner-Wrench-Set-/250708317199?pt=UK_Hand_Tools_Equipment&hash=item3a5f61540f#ht_2845wt_989)
Or use a set of mole grips and clamp it real tight ( this will however round the nut off)

I think I might have rounded it off too much now. Can I blowtorch then use mole grips?

Just mole grips and try and get a really good hold of it

I've bought a brake pipe spanner and a blow torch. So not taking any prisoners! Should be able to get it done :)
