Title: jacking points
Post by: birch on 14 August 2011, 10:12
im struggling to be sure exactly where the jacking points are on my 1993 2e 8v gti, there are 4 points on the sills to use the scissor jack that came with the car but i cant see any markings to show exactle where these reinforced points are and also i think there are 4 reinforced points under the car for a trolley jack, ive found the front two which are a little squashed but could someone tell me where to use the trolley jack at the rear and where the sill markings are too. thanks.
any other places to use a trolley jack would be appreciated too.

should have cut outs on the plastic sill covers, at the front and rear the reinforced bits are quite clear to see :undecided:
wouldnt go with a scissor jack though they are hideous and wreck sills. when i jack up the rear with my trolley i do it on the beam.

I jack the car on the middle of the rear beam and in the middle of the subframe
