Title: New petrol cap
Post by: Ryan S on 16 September 2003, 11:04
Hi everyone :),

I've got a rusty petrol cap on my mk1 scirocco.
It's rusty on the inside, and is really hard to unlock - the key turns but it still won't come out of the fitting.
After standing on various petrol station forecourts fiddling with it for too long (and feeling like a prat! :-[) I've finally decided a new one is needed.

So - I know I can get a new (standard black plastic) replacement one from GSF or the like - quite cheap too.
But, i'd like to get a nice shiny one...chrome would be cool 8), but the aluminium type are quite nice too.

I want to fit it as a direct replacement - and not get the race-style ones with the separate ring.

Any ideas or suggestions where to start looking?

Thanks

Ryan

Almost forgot - any pics would be great too... ;D

You can get a dummy "aero" style cap that just replaces your standard black cap, numerous places sell them.

Get a copy of "The Golf" magazine and start browsing.

Any one know where to get these in the UK?
