Apparently they are different, just wondered if anybody knew why?
DSG heavier? diff poundage springs? fit in a different way?
any help would be great thanks.

DSG is a semi-automatic box. You can leave it in auto mode and it will shift economically as normal. You can go to full manual mode changing gears with the stick or with the steering wheel paddles. It also has some other nifty tricks and can adapt to your driving but I honestly don't know enough about those features to comment.

DSG box is heavier so i would not be suprised if the front suspension is rated differently.

Yep DSG front springs will be heavier duty due to extra weight of gearbox.
